Acacia Forest Industries Sdn Bhd (AFI) was founded in 2004 as a joint venture between Hijauan Bengkoka Plantations Sdn Bhd and the Sabah Forestry Development Authority (SAFODA). Managing over 25,000 hectares of tropical forest plantations in the Bengkoka Peninsula, we are dedicated to responsible reforestation, sustainable timber harvesting, and the long-term care of Sabah’s natural resources.
Over time, AFI has transitioned from Acacia mangium to Eucalyptus pellita plantations, adopting advanced silvicultural practices to ensure healthier forests and greater resilience. Alongside our forestry work, we are committed to supporting local communities through employment, training, and CSR initiatives—balancing economic growth, environmental care, and social responsibility.
Our aim is to enhance the value of the forestry assets under our management through the implementation of advanced silvicultural practices. We will achieve this objective:-
Responsible Forestry
We uphold the highest standards of responsible forestry, ensuring our operations comply with certification requirements while protecting biodiversity and natural resources.
People & Community Development
We invest in training and developing our workforce, while collaborating with local communities to create long-term social and economic benefits.
Innovation in Plantation Research
We focused on implementing the best genetic material and plantation research, thereby substantially enhancing the productivity and sustainability of plantation systems.
