Acacia Forest Industries (AFI) hosted a working visit by Yang Berhormat Datuk Isnin bin Haji Aliasnih@Liasnih, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister of Sabah, together with the Board of Directors of the Sabah Forestry Development Authority (SAFODA), led by YBhg. Datuk Hamild@Hamid bin Awang, Chairman of SAFODA.
The delegation also included YBhg. Datuk Bahrul Razha bin Haji Cuprat, General Manager of SAFODA, and YBhg. Datuk Zulkifli Suara, Chief Conservator of Forests, Sabah Forestry Department, reflecting the strong collaboration among key forestry stakeholders in Sabah.
The visit commenced with a briefing by AFI General Manager, Mr. John Baxter, who provided an overview of AFI, its development, and current direction. This was followed by an operational briefing by the Operations Manager, Mr. Agustan Alwi, highlighting AFI’s plantation operations and activities.
Following the briefing sessions, the delegation proceeded on a field visit to the AFI Nursery, where they had the opportunity to observe nursery activities supporting AFI’s plantation development.
The visit continued to the Bawing Logyard, providing the delegation with a closer view of AFI’s log handling and operational activities. The field visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction and knowledge sharing between the delegation and AFI’s management team.
The working visit served as a valuable platform to strengthen engagement, exchange insights, and foster continued collaboration among AFI, SAFODA, and the Sabah Forestry Department. It also provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain a closer understanding of AFI’s operations and ongoing activities on the ground.
