Forest Management
Sustainable Forest Management
AFI manages Eucalyptus and Acacia plantations throughout the Bengkoka Peninsula, with trees grown primarily for sawlogs and chip logs.
AFI operates in accordance with the principles of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM), with certification granted under the MC&I SFM system by MTCS. Nine principles underpin this certification, including compliance with Malaysian laws and treaties, respect for indigenous rights, long-term land tenure security, community and worker welfare, biodiversity conservation, and monitoring of forest conditions. A precautionary approach is applied to all High Conservation Value (HCV) areas. These commitments extend to all staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring that sustainability standards are consistently upheld across operations.
The FMP is reviewed regularly to consider changes in management objectives, the results of measurements, monitoring and any other new information that may come available. If you require additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact AFI. Contact details are available on the website.
